What is it about insanely attractive people that turns even the most eloquent of us into stammering morons?

It’s completely natural to find yourself becoming more conscious of how you appear when you’re around someone you’re wildly attracted to. A lot of people have difficulty speaking to their crushes because they’re constantly over-analyzing their own behavior. We can act uncharacteristically shy and to combat this we must manage our thoughts when we’re around someone we like. 

Here’s the thing… When we interact with someone we don’t like romantically, we don’t get intimidated and the conversation tends to flow naturally because we are unbothered. When we are being natural and authentic we come across as way more likable. 

This is what we need to get in our heads, we need to learn to take our crushes off their pedestals. Now when you’re interacting with someone you like; see then as a normal person you interact every day. The only difference is that, if they ask you out, you’ll say yes. You can fake your inner thoughts, and in turn, your thoughts will reflect in your attitude and confidence.

It sounds ridiculously obvious but all conversations start with either a question, statement, or a question in combination with the statement. So let’s get back to basics. In this article, we’re giving you 5 scripts to use when you’re talking someone you’re insanely attracted to:

Script 1 | Chat About What’s Happening in the Moment

Are you a fan on [Insert Name]’s work? I don’t suppose you could explain it to me?

If you’re struggling with conversation one of the best ways to build rapport is to discuss mutual experiences. What are you seeing or hearing around you right now? This could be the surroundings or what the person is doing at that moment. Is there something you can comment on right now, or thinking right now, or something that you see hear, feel, smell, etc?

Script 2 | Discuss Something That Happened to You Recently

You know, recently I went visted Bali, this thing happened to me…

People who actively create lives that they love have a distinctive charm. Discuss something interesting that’s happened to you recently. Talk about something that moved you or something that made you laugh for example. When you tell stories about your life it gives a person an opportunity to listen and bond with you.

So providing that that story was uplifting, the outcome will be something that may be interesting or provoking. As a result, you will automatically become more interesting in general and this gives you the opportunity to appear more attractive.

Script 3 | People are Interested in People that are Interested in Them

Excuse me, my friend and I were trying to figure out what you do as a profession. Your uniform really stands out- what do you do for work?

When you ask questions about something positive you’ve observed about a person, they are more than likely to feel positive about conversing with you. Studies show that people projecting a genuinely curious and open-minded persona are more likely to be successful in forming all kinds of relationships. If you phrase your questions playfully, it’s even more effective as you’re keeping the tone of the conversation light-hearted and fun but showing that you have a depth to you.

For example, what are you thinking right now? You might be surprised by what your crush might say. If you notice that the person is looking at you and listening to you, and they aren’t not making any excuses to try and get away, at this point, you have the green light to try and get to know them a little better. Just make sure you’re actually listening to the person is actually saying and respond accordingly.

Script 4 | Discuss Your Plans

A friend of mine invited me to [Insert Event]. I’ve never been there before, have you?

This tactic is great because not only are you showcasing yourself as a person with things going on but you’ll get a chance to find out whether your crush is interested in the same things as you. For example, have you been to bounce? they may respond with a no, what’s that? You will then have a chance to explain. We play table tennis, and you can eat and have a drink at the same time. I am planning to go there next weekend. I will be taking my younger brother/sister out. Did you fancy joining us? Have a few things in your mind when you are talking to your crush.

Script 5 | If All Else Fails be Super Honest (in an Endearing Way)

Sorry I’m acting a little unlike myself, if I’m truly honest you’re so striking I feel shy around you.

If you fear you’re not doing a great job take your step back and observe the two of you from a different position. Take a step back, and you make it look like you are having fun with the process, and it may start to feel like you’re enjoying the process. Very often people are just as aprehensive around new people as you are- we’re all worried about how we look to varying degrees. Showing a glimpse of vulnerabilty shows we’re human and that is something we can all bond over.

Mastering conversation is something that we can all benefit from. And mastering any skill is something that takes time, effort, and persistence. The sooner you make progress, and the faster your life starts changing. The key master in conversation is using whatever someone tells you as a bridge of the communication. The ability to start and to keep the conversation flowing allows the ability to convince people to provide you with total attention and interest.

Fake it until you make it. 

Keep using these scripts when talking to strangers until it becomes a habit. Your fear is in your head and you need to steer your thoughts towards a more positive outcome when you’re around someone you’re attracted to. 

Let’s say there were multiple instances where you met a really attractive person. In all of these instances, you didn’t approach them. Rejection lasts for a period, regret lasts for a lifetime. As more and more instances like these happen, this feeling builds up eventually.   

Get into the mindset of looking past physical attractiveness. Learn to look within and to see what kind of person they really are. And right away set the boundary that you would never be remotely physically interested in them unless you have a deeper understanding of who they really are.
